AGS is a 50 year old family sign company based in Exton Pennsylvania. The company has been on a quest to reach the large amount of buildings that do not have well designed ADA signs through simple pre-designed but customizable sign systems. To back up their effort, they recently rebranded one of their proven products that has been on the market for 10 years: Access Interior Sign System, a second generation system, for purchasing, customizing and programming signs.

Neil Jacobson, president of AGS is emphatic on the goal for Access. “We want small institutions and businesses to have access to the same high level ADA signs as larger organizations.”

Access Interior Sign System is a series of predeveloped sign packages oriented to specific markets including healthcare, residential, and commercial. All the packages are contemporary sign designs utilizing the company’s extensive background in the architectural sign industry. Architects and organizations can buy off the shelf signs or customize to their specific needs. Jacobson states, “The key to the success of the system is a clear process for ordering and strong design values..”

AGS has had a long term relationship with Nova Polymer and uses Photopolymer as the material foundation for the Access system. “Photopolymer is not just a material but an efficient manufacturing process, particularly in the hands of an experienced fabricator“, states Jacobson. AGS and Nova Polymer’s deep relationship has resulted in considerable innovation over the years from new substrate combinations to quality standards.

Jacobson sees considerable challenges ahead but believes Access may finally be the approach that will succeed in reaching the broader market for signs. Jacobson concludes, “Good sign design should be accessible to everyone.”
