We have recently redesign our ADA Continuing Education Course and will be giving a free webinar on March 19th as part of a new quarterly Webinar series. The program is titled Accessibility and the ADA – 2010 Standard for Room Identification Signs and is eligible for 1 Health Safety and Welfare Learning Unit for all AIA members.

The program focuses on the ADA and how it relates to Room Identification and Wayfinding Signage. The course objectives include a discussion on What is the ADA, ADA codes relating to signage, Sates and the Federal ADA, the Sign covered but the ADA and touched on International accessibility codes for Canada and Austria. The course concludes with a discussion about photopolymer and how its used to make accessible signage.

Coarse Objective for ADA Webinar Series

Anyone involved in fabricating or designing accessible signage needs to understand these codes because not knowing could cost you or your client thousands of dollars in fines. Currently the first violation could warrant a fine of as much as 55,000 dollars and 110,000 dollars for subsequent offenses.
