Nova Polymers had the privilege to be among the 2,466 companies across North America participating in National MFG Day on Friday, October 2nd, 2015. This was our First Annual MFG Day event aimed towards inspiring our next generation of manufacturers, where we were able to share our manufacturing facility with the local students and community. We are proud to say the event was a success!

The focus of our event was the new robotic technology we were able to implement after receiving a grant from the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation in Ohio. Dave Burkholder, Facility Manager for Nova Polymers, gave a live demonstration of the equipment to show all in attendance how the technology works, as well as the importance of the machine due to the advances in worker safety it has allowed us to make.

Steve Buehrer, Administrator and CEO for the Ohio BWC joined the event to formally award our Safety Manager, Rick Hubert, with a certificate for the grant we received to implement the robotic technology. “I applaud Nova Polymers for not only working to protect its workforce but taking that extra step to implement a one-of-a-kind solution that will reduce injuries and make working conditions safer for its employees,” said Buehrer. “Nova sets an outstanding example for other employers in the manufacturing industry and it was very rewarding for me to personally visit their Bryan facility to celebrate Manufacturing Day and see firsthand their commitment to safety.”

Dave Miller, Director of Global Business Operations for Nova Polymers, adds “All of us here at Nova are proud to have participated in National MFG Day. We’ve worked hard over the years to support the sign industry, our local community, and our employees. This event not only allows us to raise awareness about what we do here at Nova, but it gives us the opportunity to share it with the next generation of manufacturers and inspire students to enter into the workforce.”
